This challenge overall is fairly easy particularly at higher gear levels so if you wish to cut down on abilitys feel free to take Sanctuary and/or Purge the Wicked to ease up on the learning curve a bit. Proc Heal trinkets are sub-optimal due to their random effects and do not contribute to increasing your dps.
High item level Stat sticks (intellect+secondaries)or Unstable Arcanocrystal etc. Sephuz's Secret can net a high uptime through the consistent use of Fears throughout this encounter and will greatly increase your damage output. Skjoldr, Sanctuary of Ivagont provides a solid increase to your PW:S effect which can be very beneficial for survivial and Xalan the Feared's Clench maintains constant Atonement, allowing for more activity time to be spent on DPS rather than refreshing Atonement to heal yourself. The extra shielding and effective health boost is exceptionally powerful for surviving the Fel Burst mechanic. Of these, Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus is the most important. Prydaz, Xavaric's Magnum Opus / Skjoldr, Sanctuary of Ivagont / Xalan the Feared's Clench / Sephuz's Secret Optimal Legendaries (preferred but not required!) This encounter can last approximately 5-6 minutes and is a test of your ability to manage your damage while also preserving your own health pool. This challenge requires you to defeat two imposing foes in a battle of attrition.
